Proposed focus for 2015: Biotechnology/Health The biotechnology/health industry is faced with rising operational costs, depleted drug development pipelines that need replenishment, impending patent expiries, pay for performance, new technology, and cuts to early discovery. Academia is faced with constrained economic climate, grants are increasingly competitive, and federal spending cuts will impact the NIH research budget. SUNY-AIR proposes to open a dialog around how to improve access to early discoveries, innovate through creative alliances, foster applied learning opportunities for SUNY students, and engage in public private partnerships.
