Introduction Last year the Council held a series of discussions and workshops with local communities. Feedback from these events identified a number of key priorities, including new homes. The Council has responded by announcing the delivery of 600 new homes, including a minimum of 300 Council homes for rent. One of the sites that has been identified with potential to provide a number of these new homes is at 54 St Helens Gardens . Aims of today: We want to listen to the views of local residents and the wider community to help us develop our proposals.
Stage One Sites The ‘Stage One’ sites announced by the Council aim to deliver a proportion of the overall programme. It is proposed that a mix of different types of homes are delivered including council homes to rent, and open market homes. Grant funding has been secured from the Mayor of London to assist with the delivery of council homes to rent. One of the five Stage One sites, shown below, that has been announced is at 54 St Helens Gardens . At 54 St Helens Gardens the aim is to deliver a number of new homes as part of the new homes programme.
Community feedback so far…. We have held a number of other consultation events in the borough about RBKC’s New Homes Delivery Programme. The community has told us that: • There is a need for new affordable homes to rent. • They understand that some of the homes will have to be open market to help fund the affordable homes.
In relation to the borough wide programme what types of new homes would you like to see? Preference Types of homes Yes No Council homes for rent Open market homes for sale/rent Keyworker homes for rent Shared ownership

Our Initial Thoughts 54 St Helens Gardens is an area which includes a mixture of period and more modern architecture. Any new building on the site would be designed to respect the architecture and character of the neighbourhood. The site has a mature tree to the front that we would propose to retain as well as an attractive rear garden. Do you agree with these principles? YES NO If you have any other comments or thoughts please let us know on the next board.
