Observations & Conclusions • There is a increase in total cases of poisoning • Total number of deaths due to poisoning shows no significant reduction • Organophospates and carbamates poisoning cases annually show more than 12000 cases • Annual deaths due to Organophospates & carbamates do not show a significant reduction • Cases due to other pesticides do not show a significant reduction 5/3/2010 25

Observations & Conclusions • Deaths due to other pesticides show no significant reduction • Rapid rise in cases of poison by drugs, medicaments and biological substances • Deaths due to poison by drugs, medicaments and biological substances do not show a significant reduction • Rapid rise in cases of toxic effects of other substances chiefly no medicinal 5/3/2010 26
