Attendance a. will be taken daily in each class period b. parents should submit absent note within two days of a students’ absence electronically—link will be placed on the WCHS webpage c. Teachers will explain more in their open house sessions and webpages 2. Grades will be given A. Teachers have developed their grading scale/policy B. Teachers will explain their grading scale/policy in their Open House sessions and webpages Synchronous—Monday through Thursday 3. The first (8:35-9:35), second (9:45-10:45), third (10:55-11:55, and fourth ( 12:25-1:25) block times. a. this is time when students receive synchronous teaching via Microsoft Teams. Post class links. b. ALL students follow their class schedule and join their class period at the assigned time and stay joined during the entire 60 minutes 4. The first (7:15-7:40), second (7:40-8:05), third (1:25-1:50) and fourth (1:50-2:15) Block work and conference times . a. This time is set aside for activities such as: b. Teachers scheduling time to provide synchronous intervention/answer questions
c. Students completing pre-assigned assignments, tests, etc. as assigned by teacher. d. Example—First period teacher has a class of 25 students. Teacher sees 5 students who need help on an assignment, so teacher asks these 5 students to join the next day at 7:15 to help with the assignment. The other 20 students can either join the class at 7:15, or use that time from 7:15-7:40 to work on a project, study and complete other assignments for the class. Asynchronous—Friday a. This time is for students to complete pre-assigned work from their teachers and submit these assignments to their teacher during their scheduled class time. b. Example—first period teacher assigns an activity on Monday and the due date is that Friday. On Friday during first block student submits assignment to teacher c. 7:15-8:30, 1:25-2:15—these are the teacher office hours where parents and students can communicate with the teacher.
