CONSTRUCTION PHASE - PARKING o Overall, existing public supply has the capacity to accommodate lost on-street parking during construction o Additional strategies proposed to better accommodate parking during construction o Improved S ignage and Wayfinding o More clearly identify and direct drivers to municipal parking lots o More clearly notify drivers that parking is available off of Plaunt and Argyle S treet o Provide Additional Parking Capacity o Re-designate existing municipal lots as three hour parking to serve downtown customers o Enter into agreements with owners of larger or occasionally used 11 parking facilities for public or downtown worker use

  14. Public Engagement o The Town does have a link on their website where citizens and business owners can sign up for future email notices on the proj ect. All future notices will also be posted on the Towns website (www.renfrew.ca/ downt own). o Jp2g design staff will make themselves available to meet with any property and business owners to answer questions they may have as it relates to the impact on their property. o Jp2g construction staff will be on-site during the construction phase of the proj ect to answer question from the public and provide updates on the construction sequencing. 14

Scope of Work for the Project o UNDERGROUND WORKS  S anitary S ewers  In order t o limit t he amount of excavat ion work required along t he roadway, t he sanit ary sewer and service lat erals will be rehabilit at ed using t renchless t echnology, in t he form of relining, wherever possible.  There may be t he need t o excavat e in some areas t o repair mainline sewers, service lat erals and maint enance holes t hat can not be relined. This will likely only be known once t he const ruct ion work is underway. 15

Scope of Work for the Project – cont’d  S torm S ervices –  These were previously replaced in 2000 and as a result new works would be limit ed t o minor upgrades t o services t o individual buildings as well as placement of addit ional cat chbasins t o improve t he drainage along t he road. 16

Scope of Work for the Project – cont’d  Watermain –  The exist ing wat ermain and service connect ions have reached t he end of t heir service life and will be replaced using convent ional t renching met hods. Plast ic pipe will be used as it is less likely t o cause discolorat ion of t he wat er which we underst and is an issue wit h t he exist ing cast iron pipes. 17

Scope of Work for the Project – cont’d S TREETS CAPING WORKS o  Concret e S idewalk Replacement  We have been able to eliminate many full or partial steps to provide flush entrances at businesses.  All existing paving stones will be removed and replaced with poured concrete panels  New Landscaping Feat ures (t rees & plant ing beds) are proposed  New S t reet Furnit ure (benches, wast e recept acles, bike racks) are proposed 18

Scope of Work for the Project – cont’d  Int ersect ion at Opeongo Road o Currently there is no separate left turn lane for vehicles turning from Raglan S treet onto Opeongo Road o This can result in vehicles queing behind the left turning vehicle which can then impact the signalized intersection at Hall Ave. / Veterans Memorial Blvd. o Alternatively, vehicles pass the left turning vehicles by using the parking lane. o Proposal is to introduce a dedicated left turn lane at this intersection. o The existing pedestrian crossing must be moved to accommodate 22 the turning lane.
