How to Win at Course Requests • Every student is different • All coursework attempted/completed in high school will appear on transcript • Work closely with high school counselor • Review Academic & Career Plan (ACP) • Use the Program of Studies • Choose coursework that is challenging yet manageable • Consider career clusters and pathways of interest • Consider goals for after high school • Plan to take the courses you choose
What’s Next? • Students & families review the Program of Studies and begin identifying courses that align with academic, personal, and career goals. • School counselors work with students and families to review academic, personal, and career goals and plan coursework for 2018-2019 • Course Request/Selection (March 12-26 th ) • ALL students select/register for 8 classes online through StudentVUE account • Students & families review requested courses on StudentVUE and make any necessary edits • StudentVUE turns to “read only” and no edits to course requests/selections can be made (March 27 th )
