College & Career Pathways Three pathways: Mechatronics Certificate, Social Sciences Transfer Degree, and General Studies Certificate (see the scheduling booklet for details) Can earn either diploma, but it may require you to attend summer school to meet all of the requirements. For the Social Sciences Transfer Degree, it is recommended that you already be in Geometry and a foreign language to earn the advanced studies diploma. The pathways are NOT mandatory, but they are a great option for students who may be interested in these areas. They are NOT the only way to earn college credits while in high school. There are many Dual Enrollment and AP options for college bound students, with new classes being added all the time.
Athletic Eligibility All students must maintain a 2.0 GPA to play sports in the Virginia High School League. Freshmen who plan to play sports must enter high school with a 2.0 to play fall sports. Many fall sports and marching band start during the summer. All students must have passed THREE classes the previous semester and must be currently enrolled in not fewer than THREE classes.
