HERITAGE MANAGEMENT PLAN PROCESS • The Heritage Management Plan: – A framework to help conserve, manage and celebrate St. Albert’s heritage resources • The Project: – Develop phased plan, processes, policies, and forms for heritage program in St. Albert – Consultants Donald Luxton & Associates / David Murray Architect – Working closely with a Steering Committee & City Staff – Cost-share funding provided by the Municipal Heritage Partnership Program

OUTCOMES OF THE HERITAGE MANAGEMENT PLAN • Increases community pride and awareness • Manages pace of change • Develop programs that engage community in local heritage (e.g.: interpretive walks, signs, QR codes) • Sustainable and Environmental • Opportunities to tie into local planning initiatives • Investment in heritage sites through community partnerships • Generating employment through heritage trades and other economic spin-offs
