Feedback from Teachers ● The IPads added back the excitement of school and learning for my 4th grade students. It allows my lower level writers to shine and boosts their confidence levels! I love teaching with the Ipads. ● I am truly hoping that we will have the opportunity to use iPads next year in fourth grade for a longer period than this year. I feel that my students got so much out of them as did I. We Face Timed with a scientist from NASA. Learned how to communicate with each other in appropriate ways online, students were more eager to look up things they didn't know on their iPads and share during class, and many more. ● Honestly, at first I was extremely concerned about iPads in the classroom. I thought students would take advantage of this freedom and use the iPad inappropriately or try to search for things when they weren't supposed to. To my surprise, with very strict guidelines and consistency between our class expectations and rules, the students exceeded my expectations and were completely responsible when they used their iPads. As a special ed. teacher I especially saw an improvement in student engagement, productivity, and motivation. I cannot imagine teaching without the iPads next year! ● I saw a marked improvement in my fourth grade reading students motivation, reading focus and writing skills when they used the iPad to write a biography report. They did not want to stop working and often asked me to come back and continue during their snack time.

2014-2015 Plans ● Continue the iPad effort to grade 5 next year while maintaining it in the 4 th grade ● Current 4 th grade students will return their iPads in June, and receive them back in September ● All 5 th grade teachers will receive an iPad prior to the end of the school year, allowing them to explore the hardware and appropriate apps ● Professional development will be made available during the summer of 2014 ● The district will provide training in classrooms during the school day ● This will provide training specific to classroom teachers without removing them from their students in order to do so ● As a formal introduction to the parents of our 4 th grade students, there will be an early fall parent information session
