GREAT YEAR FOR ROSEWOOD GOLF CLUB LADIES A lovely lunch at the Marburg Hotel in late November followed the Rosewood Golf Club Ladies AGM and trophy presentations for midweek events. It was great to see so many ladies (past and present members)


  1. GREAT YEAR FOR ROSEWOOD GOLF CLUB LADIES A lovely lunch at the Marburg Hotel in late November followed the Rosewood Golf Club Ladies AGM and trophy presentations for midweek events. It was great to see so many ladies (past and present members) join us for the festivities. Leona Sheraton and Phyllis Brown were honoured to present the trophies to this year’s winners. Our Mid-Week Ladies Championship winners were: Div 1: Gross: Shelley Savage, Nett: Mary Gibson Div 2: Gross: Janelle Browning, Nett: Shirley Morgan The enviable Hole in One Trophy went to Shelley Savage who showed her talent in scoring a hole in one on the 11 th green in her first year of golf as well as taking out the trophy for the Division 1 Gross. Our 27 hole Foursomes event saw Marysha Boonstoppel and Phyllis Brown take out the Gross trophy while Dawn Norris and Daphne Smith were awarded the Nett trophy. Marysha also excelled to take out the prizes for the Single Matchplay and Putting Competitions. The 4BBB Stroke Championship winners were Mary Gibson and Daphne Smith having defended their title from last year. Mary had an amazing game scoring 87 off the stick and Daphne was quick to come in with the better points on some holes. Mary was also our Chip-In Champion for the year. Janelle Browning is looking forward to receiving a Club Shirt for her Medal of Medals win this year. Encouragement Award this year went to Sarah Erith. Our badges for Golf Qld Brooch and International Bowl and also our eclectic competitions are run jointly with the midweek and weekend Ladies. Golf Qld Brooch winners were Div 1 Elizabeth Nelson, Div 2 Mary Gibson, Div 3 Sarah Erith. International Bowl went to: Div 1 Elizabeth Nelson, Div 2 Phyllis Brown and Div 3 Janelle Browning. Eclectic winners were Div 1: Gross: Elizabeth Nelson, Nett: Lisa Johnston, Div 2: Gross: Shirley Morgan, Nett: Sarah Erith. Dawn Norris was recognised and congratulated for her Golf Qld Bronze Division Win Div 2 International Bowl 2017.

A big thank you to all our volunteers and trophy donors for the year and a special thanks must go to the Rosewood Community Bank Branch for sponsoring $500 towards the Ladies Pennants and Representative Shirts. The Ladies placed third in this year’s Triple Vall ey Ladies Pennants Competition and are looking forward to hosting this Competition in 2019. Thank you also to the Moreton Border News, Ipswich City Council and Jim Madden MP for your support. The Midweek (Tuesday) Ladies have now completed their program for 2018 and will resume in February 2019. Any ladies interested in joining our friendly group are encouraged to contact the club.
