FCCLA RED Talk Presentation Application FCCLA’s RED Talks are a non - traditional, short, and highly engaging presentation that highlight one of FCCLA’s four Career Pathways or a National Program. These modified presentations are able to best meet the dynamics of advanced learning styles. FCCLA asks that presenters create interactive and engaging presentations as PowerPoint slides with voiceover will not be accepted . FCCLA RED Talk have a time limit of five to seven minutes. Presentations that exceed this time limit will not be accepted. FCCLA RED Talk presentation applications will be required to align with at least one of the two following options in order to be considered: OPTION 1 – Highlight one or more of FCCLA's four Career Pathways; Human Services, Hospitality and Tourism, Education and Training, or Visual Arts and Design. OPTION 2 - Highlight one of FCCLA’s eight National Programs, provide fundraising suggestions, and/or relevant Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) resources and knowledge . Step #1 – Provide Your Contact Information If your presentation is selected, this information will be used to share vital conference information/updates. Please make sure the information you provide is accurate. Should I wish to participate in the conference and/or view presentations, I will need to purchase a conference registration th rough FCCLA’s national website.

  2. Step #2 – Confirm Your Consent to Submit Application Please select one of the following options: I am under the age of 18 and confirm that my guardian has approved of my application. My guardian gives their consent to the use of my presentation submission and personal information for promotion efforts as related to this content. I am over the age of 18 and confirm my consent for use of my presentation submission and personal information for promotional efforts as related to this content. Step #3 – Select Your RED Talk Subject Area(s) Does your presentation align with one or more of FCCLA's Career Pathways? If so, please select all options that are applicable to your presentation: Education and Training Human Services Hospitality and Tourism Visual Arts and Design Does your presentation align with one or more of FCCLA's National Programs? If so, please select all options that are applicable to your presentation: Career Connection Financial Fitness Community Service Power of One Families Acting for Community Traffic Safety (FACTS) Stand Up (New Advocacy Program) Families First Student Body

  3. Step #4 – Provide Your Presentation Details Presenter Bio - Must be written in third person – Paragraph Format (100 words maximum) Presentation Title - 50 characters maximum, including spaces Presentation Description - 100 words maximum

  4. Step #5 – Record Your Presentation Record your virtual presentation using the “ Virtual Presentation Recording Tips ” resource. Presentation must not exceed the time limit of five to seven minutes . Presentations that exceed the time limit will not be accepted. Save your video file as - Last Name / First Name / Presentation Title. Your presentation should be interactive and creative. PowerPoint presentations with voice overs will not be accepted. **Student members are required to dress professionally when recording your presentation. FCCLA encourages you to “Rock the Red” in your official uniform , if possible, or your favorite FCCLA polo . ** Adult presenters are required to either wear business causal or professional wear when presenting. Step #6 – Prepare Your Presentation Handouts / Resources If you would like to provide handouts or resources for attendees. Please provide a pdf. copy of each individual resource or handout. *This step is not required to be completed in order for your application to be considered. Step #7 – Complete the Presentation Release Form The conference presentation release form can be found here; if you are under 18 a guardian must also approve the form. Step #8 – Submit Your Presentation Application If you have completed all of the steps above, you are ready to submit your presentation application! Compile all of the following items: 1. Completed Presentation Application (saved as a pdf. file) 2. Your video in its original format. (send video via a file upload program such as Google Drive or Dropbox) 3. Completed Presentation Release Form (saved as a pdf. file) 4. Presentation Handouts – *not required (saved as a pdf. file) Documents must be available and publicly accessible (check settings to ensure they can be viewed outside of your network) All attached files must be clearly labeled using a descriptive file name, e.g. “Last Name, First Name – Presentation Application.” If you are using Google or a similar platform, be sure to publish all content. Have someone outside of your network check for access. Any document requiring additional access will not be able to be viewed. Only documents that can be opened and viewed will be accepted! Attach all documents and your presentation recording to an email and send to partnership@fcclainc.org before the May 18 deadline. Questions?
