Family Family - creates a good feel Family – gives a good sense of where we are going Remember Families are “interesting”
Family But I’m the black sheep of the family!
Family But we don’t choose to be in a family!! So how does that work? Choosing a Family!
Ephesians 1 v5-8 5 God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. 6 So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. 7 He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. 8 He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.
Rugeley Community Church - Mission As Church family, to live out the love of God in our lives and with all we meet.
Vision
Rugeley Community Church - Vision To demonstrate how much God loves each person for who they are, irrespective of their personal situations. We seek to be locally committed and globally connected in demonstrating God’s love. We want to play our part in seeing the spiritual regeneration of this town and region through His Kingdom. We want to be intentional in being a catalyst for change by working with others in serving our community. That our facility would be a resource to both the community we live in and for the Kingdom of God.
Rugeley Community Church - Values We Believe In... 1. The one true God who lives eternally in three persons — the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. 2. The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world. 3. The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God — fully trustworthy for faith and conduct. 4. The dignity of all people, made male and female in God's image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement. 5. The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ — born of the Virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.
Rugeley Community Church - Values 6. The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God. 7. The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first fruits of our resurrection; his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world. 8. The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ. 9. The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness. 10. The Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers — given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit's gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love. 11. The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth.
Rugeley Community Church - Values We value… Presence of God The presence of God is central to our lives. We want to be presence, not programme centred. We seek to know the presence of God in our daily lives in whatever we are involved with. We expect Holy Spirit will support, guide and encourage us as individuals and as Church, through His gifts. Our Identity We are sons and daughters of the King of kings. We are royalty. Our self-worth comes from the knowledge of who we are. We can enjoy access to Father, Son and Holy Spirit at any time. Intimacy with Him and hearing from Him is our birthright. Honour Honour flows from our identity as royal sons and daughters and from the recognition that others are made in His image. It’s about how we manage ourselves and love, respect and treat others. It creates an environment in which we can feel safe and Holy Spirit can flow freely. We must treat others with respect and value them as Jesus does. This also requires us to be honest and truthful with each other to maintain integrity and trust.
Rugeley Community Church - Values Responsibility We are powerful people. We make our own decisions and form our own opinions. It is vital that we take responsibility for our personal growth and destiny – no one else can do that for us. It’s important to understand that the actions we take have a direct bearing on ourselves and others, and may result in us having to address any issues that arise from our decisions. Truth We believe Holy Spirit leads us into all truth, and that the Bible is the inspired word of God. We need to diligently study the Word whilst continuously listening to Holy Spirit’s guidance. We trust that He will bring us fresh insight and revelation to deepen our understanding of the truth. He does this in many ways, including through the Bible, through revelatory encounters with him, prophecy, teaching and preaching. God IS love. He delights in us. We are loved and accepted unconditionally by Him. Living in the reality of this truth enables us to live in security and free from fear. Perfect love casts out fear. It also enables us to love ourselves and to love others. It is essential that we embrace this truth and extend it towards ourselves and others, so that we can grow and discover who He made us to be.
Rugeley Community Church - Values Prayer We are to be praying as individuals and as a community who seek Father God, for guidance, to intercede for others and to be bring God’s Kingdom into all situations. Family God extends his Father’s heart towards us. We are His beloved children, and enjoy the intimacy of a family relationship with Him and with each other as brothers and sisters in Christ. We desire every member of RCC to fulfil their Godly destiny by having an attitude of being floors for people to grow from rather than ceilings that restrict. Freedom Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. We value and embrace this freedom and will protect it at all cost. Jesus came not just to set us free FROM the bondage which had enslaved us, but He released us to come INTO everything we were originally created for. We are free to think for ourselves, explore new opportunities and discover new depths. Freedom also brings responsibilities towards God, ourselves, and others.
Rugeley Community Church - Values Joy The joy of the Lord is the gladness of heart that comes from knowing God, abiding in Christ, and being filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus came so that we would have life and enjoy life in abundance! In His presence there is fullness of joy, and His desire is for us to experience this joy. Joy is the natural reaction to the work of God, whether promised or fulfilled. Joy expresses God's kingdom — His influence on earth. We value the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives that we might all be filled to overflowing with joy, fun and passion! Faith We are supernatural people living in an environment where we expect God’s Kingdom presence to invade every situation. We expect to see miracles and for Holy Spirit to change the atmosphere wherever we go. We carry the Kingdom of God within us and it flows from us. For us, God’s children, the supernatural is natural. We are training for life, not a Christian ministry. We look for God at work everywhere around us. We actively encourage stories of God at work, God Stories. We are willing to put ourselves in situations where we are dependent on God’s supernatural power. This requires courage; courage is faith in action.
