Recent Developments in the Nigerian Banking Industry • Banking reform announced by CBN governor in July 2004 89 banks (2004) under a 14-point agenda A major requirement was for banks to achieve ► minimum shareholders’ funds of N25bn (approx. minimum shareholders funds of N25bn (approx.
