R E C R E A T I O N Akhara Akhara is the traditional Indian name for a sports centre, and is a state-of-the-art gym equipped with weight training as well as cardiovascular equipment. Well appointed, it is spacious enough to allow the practice of yoga. The Rait Spa and swimming pool are adjacent to the gym. Neel Neel— the vivid blue of the native peacocks is the design inspiration for our covered indoor pool. Built in the style of a bygone age of leisurely indulgences this pool offers quiet seclusion. Just a step beyond takes you into bright sunlight for those who wish to seek the sun. Taash Taash is the Cards and Billiards Room opposite the main entrance of the hotel. It entertains with many board games, a card table for four, and a well-lit billiards table.

The Spa Garden The Spa Garden is a quiet swirl of lawn and flowering shrub, scented vines and an open-air thada where one can practice yoga or indeed dine in luxury. The Celebration Garden The Celebration Garden is a sprawling complex of intricate stone masonry evident in the courtyards and cultivated gardens that wrap around a traditional baradari pavilion. G A R D E N S The Bawdi The Bawdi is styled like a traditional stepwell and utterly roman- tic to view. This open air space can be used for musical evenings as an amphitheatre or more privately for intimate celebrations. The Fossil Hill The Fossil Hill is a rocky outcrop adjacent to the hotel and ideal for sunset viewing with cool sundowners and tasty nibbles. The Bageecha The Bageecha is our organic kitchen garden and an extension of the Tulsi Aangan. As our hotel chef believes — the quality of food comes from the quality of its ingredients. C O U R T Y A R D S The Central Courtyard The stately Central Courtyard is the heart of the hotel, looking up to the open firmament and spanning the width of its structure. Jaw-droppingly spectacular with intricately carved jalis and jharokhas, pillars and stone benches, this open airy space is thoroughly versatile. Evenings are dreamlike as live desert music, dimly lit lamps, brightly coloured flowers and endlessly twinkling stars transport you to a place you’ve never been. Enchanting yet so familiar.
C O U R T Y A R D S The Mehendi Terrace The Mehendi Terrace on the second floor is an intimate space nestled between the bastions of this fort-like structure. Ideal for smaller occasions and celebrations, the terrace looks out onto the main portico and further out on to a small temple, the original structure around which this property was fashioned. The Verandah The Verandah on each floor is decorated with traditional artefacts. These inviting and gentle spaces fare perfect for convivial conversations and repast as they are each located outside your rooms. The Tulsi Aangan The Tulsi Aangan is approached by steps leading up from the Central Courtyard. This special place comes to life at night hosting musical and dance evenings and is also suitable as a barbecue dining venue for private parties and celebrations. The Mehendi Terrace
