EUROCONTROL Voluntary ATM Incident Reporting (EVAIR) EVAIR Mission EVAIR Vision Support and To be recognized as pan- promotion of voluntary European medium for the ATM incident reporting collection, analysis and Develop partnership transmission of voluntary between main ATM safety occurrence stakeholders data in support of the quick Prevention of fix of identified problems accidents and serious and sharing of lessons incidents by better learned understanding and availability of the underlined causal factors
ATM Incident data collection Facilitation Preventive & of the proactive feedback approach to channel safety Monitoring & Quick fix of Customized problems analysis
EVAIR facilitation of missing links BENEFITS Pro-active approach to the safety – Early identification of safety concerns Feedback and closure of the loop with the quick fix of problems Motivation for reporters Trust btw ANSPs and Airlines Confidentiality Best use of resources Sharing of lessons learned Facilitation of the contact

Like sounding 5LNCs ambiguity Annex 11, Appendix 2 3.3. The name-code designator shall be easily recognizable in voice communications and shall be free of ambiguity with those used for other significant points in the same general area . 130NM UN81 When on airway UN871 and flying from the west to the east, Swiss ACC often provides clearance direct to VEBEG (Swiss/Vienna boundary). Some 130NM further away, waypoint MEBEK (FIR Munich) is on the same airway. EVAIR received reports from flight crews that due to phonetic similarity of these two waypoints there is a possibility of confusion when receiving clearance from ATC. Such confusion may pose a threat to safe operations and therefore we would like to bring this issue into your attention (2 NOV 2009).
