The knowledge of a company doesn’t matter but the way it is presented matters in this competitive business world . Objectives of the Programme At the end of the session the participants should be able to;  Identify their weaknesses and strengths in making presentations  Identify how to effectively deliver individual presentations, and  Prepare effective slide presentations. Content of the Programme  Getting prepared for a presentation  Giving an attractive opening to your presentation  Effective delivery (Use eye contact, gestures, body language for maximum effect, presenting and managing questions)  Ending your presentation effectively  Preparing slide presentations  Evaluation  Mini lectures followed by discussions about making effective presentations  Practical sessions: Getting the participants to make presentations at the workshop and also video taping those presentations so that the participants can evaluate their own presentations at the play back session.  Mini group discussions Evaluation of Performance/ Development of Participants  Self evaluation – a number of opportunities would be given to workshop participants to reflect about their current presentation skills and to identify their strengths and weaknesses  Peer review – Participants would be given an opportunity to present during the workshop and Internal Training Programme peers’ evaluation of that presentation would be given to participants  Coaching by the instructor – while the participant present the coach would also evaluate the participant and would be given a written and verbal evaluation of the presentation to the participant 2

  3.  All these interventions are aimed at self realization, for the participant to develop his/her presentation skills. Trainer Profile Dr. Arosha S. Adikaram Arosha S. Adikaram counts over 08 years experience as a lecturer in Human Resource Management at the Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. She is also a reputed author, consultant, researcher and a trainer in her field. Her professional experience is enriched by academic credentials that include her Bachelor of Business Administration (honors) degree specializing in Human Resource Management, from the Faculty of Management and Finance and her Masters degree in Labor Studies from Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Colombo. She has completed her PhD in Human Resource Management at the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Prior to entering the academia, Arosha worked in the Group Human Resource Department of John Keells Holdings, Sri Lanka, mainly handling training and development of the group. Her contribution to the field of HRM has been recognized nationally as well as internationally. Arosha was recently awarded as one of the ‘Ten Outstanding Young Persons – 2010’ (TOYP) for her academic accomplishments by Junior Chamber International, Sri Lanka (JCISL). She was also conferred with the ‘Pride of HR Profession’ award in India by World HRD Congress in February 2010. She is also a recipient of “FES/SLF Research Fellowship for Young Researchers” in 2003, awarded by Sri Lanka Foundation and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and she received the ‘Best Paper Award’ for the paper ‘sexual harassment among women in the banking sector of Sri Lanka’ for the International Conference on Business and Information held in Internal Training Programme Singapore in 2006. Arosha’s publications in the field of HRM includes two books titled ‘Labor Law and Relations: a Human Resource Management Approach’ (publisher: Stamford Lake Publications) and ‘Is 3

  4. Sexual Harassment a Problem in Sri Lankan Workplaces’ (publishers: Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and Sri Lanka Foundation) as well as a number of peer reviewed research articles. In addition to lecturing the undergraduates, Arosha also serves as a resource person for numerous organizations and programs including the Master of Business Administration degree program - MBA (conducted by the Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo), Department of Labour , National Institute of Labour Studies, Faculty of Graduate Studies (University of Colombo), Open University of Sri Lanka, Post Graduate Institute of Management (PIM) and number of other private and government institutions, universities, and schools. She is also involved in certain curriculum development and revision activities in a number of post graduate and graduate programs. Arosha is a past member of the Toastmasters, an Associate Member of the Institute of Personnel Management, Sri Lanka, and a member of SLAIHEE (Sri Lanka Association for Improving Higher Education Effectiveness). She is also a SEDA Certified Teacher in Higher Education, United Kingdom and a Certified Teacher in Higher Education, Sri Lanka. Internal Training Programme 4

Programme Details Duration: One Whole Day Grade of Participants: Managers and all other Grade of Employees Number of Participants: 50 Please note the facilities and the equipments (Multi Media Projectors, Sound system, white board etc.) required for the training should be offered by the company. The training guide/hand book will be offered by us to each and every participant which contains the entire content covered in the programme with relevant attachments and articles. At the end of the session the certificate of participation also will be provided to the participants. Note: The programme content is flexible and subject to alterations as per your requirements.
