Cummins- Rocky Mount Engine Plant United Way Campaign Best Practices START EARLY – Set the date for Campaign in January – Communicate Campaign date 45 days out CAMPAIGN DATE for RMEP OCTOBER 8 th , 2015 Form a United Way Team – Include and encourage Leadership participation – High Energy & Creative Employees – United Way Team should: • Represent & be Responsible for a team or part of the organization (HR & Training, Materials & Shipping) • Set Campaign Goal –Participation vs Dollar (Plant Manager does this at RMEP) • Start meeting as early as possible - RMEP was July • Meet regularly for Updates • Brain storm activities for “FUND-raising” • Decide & Confirm Activities • Wear United Way T-shirts during all activities Host a United Way Agency Fair – Prior to launch of United Way Campaign – Invite as many partnering agencies as possible – Begin FUND-raising efforts – Include activities that are engaging – Cake Walk 1
