Recommendations • Build capacity and trust among key stakeholders and develop synergies with ongoing initiatives at national level, keeping in mind the specific country context and needs of each user. • Identify and nurture country facilitators/ champions as soon as possible. Decide on the priority VCs for proof of concept. The online platform is not sufficient

Agritourism • Food tourism is a major opportunity to advance the integration of agriculture, tourism and trade sectors in the Pacific • Need to share and build on lessons learned in developing agritourism policies and good practice e.g. Chefs4Dev Recommendations: • Harmonisation of agriculture, trade and tourism policies at all levels and advance development of agritourism policies in other countries • Promote sound sustainability and investments into technology (processing facilities, transport and infrastructure development) with a regional dimension, complemented by regional trade facilitation measures. • Accelerate training on food safety standards and certification for farmers and processors

  18. Traditional food preservation and harvesting techniques Resilience This ��a�a�a leaf� earth �fridge� �a� preser�e grated bananas several years.

  19. Traditional fishing techniques: Spider webs are collected and wrapped around a stick (like in the picture), which is then attached at the back of a fishing boat just above the water. When sunlight hits, the reflections attracts fish that can then easily be caught.

  20. Traditional cooking and handicraft techniques: Dishes like laplap are prepared above the fire and mats are woven; knowledge that has been preserved and is carried out till today.
