TBM inside Dodge Island Receiving Pit Original plan was to disassemble • TBM and move it back to Watson Island to be reassembled and begin boring the second tunnel. Design-Build Team modified the • original concept on Dodge Island from two portals to a single split portal. They also revised the operations to mine the second tunnel from Dodge Island to Watson Island by use of a turntable in the receiving pit on Dodge Island. www.por tofmiamitunne l.c om

TBM Turnaround Table A Custom Teflon turn table was used to turn the TBM. This method minimizes logistical risks and preserves project schedule. TBM is in the process of being disassembled, turned and reassembled to begin the Westbound Tunnel Mining in October. www.por tofmiamitunne l.c om
