The Role of the Club Coaching Officer “Never Ending & Ever Evolving” • Act as a point of contact in the club for communication of Coaching and Games Development initiatives from County, Provincial and National level. • Drive & support the organisation of Games Development Initiatives, Cúl Camps & Club School Coaching programme. • Oversee in conjunction with the coaching committee the appointment of all coaches to ensure all teams/players have access to a qualified Coach. • Co-ordinate the organisation of Coach Education Programmes & best practice for Club coaches. • Develop and support a Club Coaching Structure and distribute coaching resources. • Communicate between managers & age groups to ensure players get appropriate game to rest ratios and hold regular coaches meetings to share ideas discuss coaching program. • Develop and promote links between the Club and the local National and Post Primary Schools 13/10/2015 coaching.wexford@gaa.ie 4

Easter & Summer Camps “ Participation, Club Promotion & Skill Development” • Easter Camps begin on March 21 st , 22 nd , 23 rd (Innovate Wexford Park, New Ross, Enniscorthy/Belfield, Riverchappell/Ballygarret) – Booking available online • Summer Camps begin on July 4 th (Dates sent out) • Booking online begins from 1 st March • Application forms for coaches out from 18 th January 16/1/2016 coaching.wexford@gaa.ie 6

Academy Squads Key Dates – Blitzes and Matches “Looking to the Future” • Trial Period – Official email to invite clubs to send players – before 1 st February. • Blitzes – Hurling – Provincial 30 th April, Cross Provincial 16 th July, National Tournament 27 th August. – Football – Provincial 14 th May, Provincial 2 nd July, National Tournament 13 th August. • Challenge Matches Dates for Squads – Hurling – 12 th March, 26 th March, 23 rd April, 4 th June, 20 th August . – Football – 19 th March, 2 nd April, 7 th May, 11 th June , 6 th August, 3 rd September.   8. Coach Education “ Educating the next generation of club & School coaches ” FROM 2016 ALL INTER-COUNTY TEAMS, OF ALL AGES, MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF ONE AWARD 2 COACH AS PART OF THE MANAGEMENT TEAM. CLUB MENTORS AT YOUTH LEVEL MUST HAVE A AWARD 1. • Award 2 Youth / Adult Hurling – Venue: Rathnure GAA, Wexford (Limited) – Saturday 13th Feb, Saturday 12th Mar, Saturday 16th April, Saturday 14th May, Saturday 11th June, Saturday 16th July, 9:30am to 4:00pm. • Award 2 Youth / Adult Football (Limited) – Venue: IT Carlow – Saturday the 6th Feb, Saturday the 5th Mar, Saturday the 2nd April, Saturday the 7th May, Saturday the 4th June, Saturday the 2nd July, 9:30am to 4:00pm. • Award 1 Courses Ferns St Aidan’s (1 st February) , Horeswood (13 th Febuary) , Bannow- Ballymitty (7 th - March) Raperees (27 th February)  Foundation Awards - Details available on coach education calendar and or on club request 13/10/2015 coaching.wexford@gaa.ie 8

Club Cluster Support Program “ Working together to further develop club coaches networks” • Scheduled visits by Wexford Coaching & Games Staff. • Clubs grouped on logistics and venues. • Opportunities to have planned workshops & potential blitzes/regional academies • Work with schools to increase games opportunities • Identify new volunteers & assist them in their coaching practice. 16/1/2016 coaching.wexford@gaa.ie 9
