CITY OF NEWPORT GYMNASTIC ACADEMY LIMITED ANNUAL PRESENTATION – SATURDAY 25TH JANUARY 2014 Introduction The Academy will hold it’s annual display and presentation on Saturday 25th January 2014. All gymnasts will be included in a brief performance prior to the presentation of certificates. Most of the children have achieved their British Proficiency Awards and this will be celebrated at the presentation. Each child who has achieved a badge/certificate will be given a form for parents to complete and bring to the gym the following week. The badges cost £2.50 each from British Gymnastics. Entry fee There will be an entry fee for parents/families. £2.50- adults. £1 -O.A.P and children (school age). Nursery children/babies – free entry. Safeguarding and Protection of Children Photography – you are permitted to take photos and video of your child only during the performance and presentation; however, you are not permitted to photograph or video any other child without the permission of the child’s parent. This is strict policy of British, Welsh Gymnastics and CNGA; you are not permitted to post any photo of any other child or member of staff on social networks – thank you. The Academy does have it’s own Twitter and Facebook account that is controlled by CNGA staff. The event will be posted onto the social sites officially authorised by the Club Welfare Officer. Format of the Presentation Due to the large number of gymnasts, the presentation will take place over two sessions (Morning and Afternoon) as detailed below. Dress Code All gymnasts are asked to wear either of the following: Girls: Academy track suits Academy Leotard Academy t shirt and dark shorts Plain white t shirt and dark shorts Boys: Academy leotard and shorts Plain white t shirt and dark shorts All gymnasts: bare feet, long hair neatly tied back off the face, no jewellery (except stud earrings taped up)
MORNING PRESENTATION 9 am – Doors Open All girls who attend the ‘ 1 hour ’ a week (recreational beginner groups Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and All boys who attend Tuesday and/or Thursday gymnastic lessons All gymnasts must arrive by 9.30 am at the latest and report to coaches on the main floor for a general warm up 10 am – all children assemble at far end of gym. March on to music and line up in front of parents Introduction by Directors of CNGA 10.15 am display of gymnastics by all recreational beginner girls: 5 workstations (FLOOR, BARS, BALANCE BEAM, SPRINGBOARD, AND BLOCK VAULT). 10.45am – end performance. 10.50 am all boys march to 5 workstations (FLOOR, VAULT PREPARATION, PARALLETTES, SPRINGBOARD, REBOUND) 11.20 am – floor area cleared – boys and girls march back on 11.30 am – presentation of certificates and awards to gymnasts 12 mid day – end of 1st presentation. Gym cleared by all coaches
AFTERNOON PRESENTATION 1.30pm – doors re-open All girl’s improver groups (TUESDAY AND THURSDAY CLASS) and All preparation squad and competition gymnasts 2 pm – all gymnasts report to coaches on the main floor for warm up 2.30 pm – MARCH ON all gymnasts. Introduction by Directors of CNGA 2.45 pm – improver groups display of gymnastics - 5 workstations (FLOOR, REBOUND, BARS, BEAM VAULT) 3.15 pm – clear floor area 3.20 pm – display by prep & comp squad (Beam skills, tumble skills, bar skills, vault preps) 3.40 pm -Demonstration of Range and Conditioning, Floor, Beam, Uneven Bars, metal bar loops 4 pm - Air Track Display – all selected competition squad gymnasts Recognition of current Welsh Champions at the Academy Presentation of certificates and Awards End of Presentation
