Sampling Approach: Multistage Sampling • Step I: Stratification by district to determine the samples for each province. Sample size for each district has been determined proportioned to its population. • Step II: All GN divisions of each district were listed and GNs were randomly selected using a simple random sampling method. GNs were treated as sampling units and the number of interviews to be done for each GN division were Methodology determined proportionally to the populations. • Step III: A systematic random sampling was used to select the household to be surveyed. • Step IV : Anyone above 18 years were considered for the survey. The respondent from a chosen household was selected. • Database of Sample Survey of Last National Survey was used • Data collected via telephone interviews • Data collection period: 29 th March to 31 st March 2020

16 16 Conclusions • People have treated the lockdown as one of the usual curfews and stocked-up their food, essentials and medicines accordingly • Leniency in curfew during early period was utilised to access food, medicine and money. Hence, they have not any pressure • Majority are worried out about a long lockdown; it appears that they have not understood the seriousness of the COVID 19. • One third are worried about their income earning ability • 63% believe that COVID 19 will not spread to their areas and recent behaviour of people when curfew lifted indicates this belief. • They are satisfied with current measures taken by government as majority did not feel and difficulties in accessing food, medicine and money.
