If a Federal Candidate is on the ballot, every voter after 7am should vote a Provisional Ballot a. Your “To Do List” should include: 1. Prepare ballots for the extended hours; 2. Post a copy of the petition on the door of the polling location and an additional sign to state the obvious; 3. File a copy in Elections Folder/Binder for records; 4. Discuss the process at Board Meeting on Election Day; 5. Arrive at the polling location around 6:45pm with the printed provisional ballots, supplies and provisional ballot bag marked “EH” for Extended Hours and assist as necessary with the process. TORNADO WATCH or BOMB THREAT 1. Ensure the safety of your staff and voters at the location. 2. Ensure the protection of the tabulators with the voted ballots in it, such as locking them down with the covers on and seal them. 3. Make sure if you leave the building that no one can try to access the scanners with the votes on it nor gain access to the paper ballots. 4. If time is available, secure the Provisional Ballots and secure the Voting equipment by locking the scanners, ballot box and epolls in their cases. 5. Grab the bag that contains your keys, electors list and other essentials. SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING . Always be aware of your surroundings. • Call 911 and the Elections Office without causing a stir or panic among the general public. • If safety officials advise the building will be evacuated, refer to the items above: ensure your safety • and secure the voting equipment.
