REGISTRATION PROCESS • New and Current Middle School Counselors will visit with students to plan for next year – February 20 th – March 7 th (students will receive course selection sheets and course guide books) • Applications for Odyssey & Inquire due by March 6 th for students not currently in the program but wish to apply • Request for Transfer due by March 10 th @ 5:00PM (all forms are online) • Course Request Forms returned to Current Campus Counselor by March 24 th • Course verifications will be sent to parents late April • Schedules will be mailed in August • DMS/SFA will host an Ice Cream Social prior to the start of school for students to walk their schedules
7 TH GRADE SCHEDULE • Language Arts (2 periods one for reading and 1 for writing): Regular or Pre AP • Math: Regular or Pre AP • Science: Regular or Pre AP • T exas History: Regular or Pre AP • Electives : Band, Choir, Orchestra, Art, Theatre, Technology Applications, College and Career Readiness/Teen Leadership, Dance, PE, Athletics o There may be other opportunities with in the specific programs/academies o Students may be assigned other electives based on specific needs

PRE-AP • Pre Advanced Placement • More rigorous curriculum designed to challenge and help get students ready for college • When determining whether to sign up – think about interests, future goals, academic strengths, current teacher input • Encourage all students to take a least one Pre AP

WHAT THE STUDENTS REALLY WANT TO KNOW? “Do I have to wear an ID?” Yes, all students are required to wear an ID. “Is there a Dress Code?” Yes, students are required to follow the Bryan ISD dress code “Do I have to dress out at PE?” Yes, students are required to dress out for PE. It is part of their grade “Do I get choices at LUNCH ?” Yes, students get to choose from multiple choices for lunch. Some examples include pizza, nachos, orange chicken, chicken and waffles, and spaghetti.

SUPPORT • Have open communication with Teachers, Counselors, and Administrators • Get involved with Parent Activities on Campus • Sign up for Campus Committees • Attend programs/events involving our students • Encourage your student to… sign up for Pre AP , get involved with a school activity, go to tutorials, talk about homework, etc.
