Graduation Requirements In addition to the aforementioned course/credit requirements, the following requirements must be met for graduation: 1. Pass all five parts of the Ohio Graduation Test 2. Fulfill community service requirements (Students must complete at least 20 hours of community service projects prior to graduation.) 3. Paid Fees/fines 4. Cleared discipline obligation 5. Passing all classes necessary/required for graduation
Attendance � School is your job – it is your responsibility to be here � Excused absences (illness, illness in family, death of relative, religious holiday, emergencies) credit for make-up work is permitted – you are given the same number of days as you were out � Unexcused absences (babysitting, oversleeping, car trouble, etc.) credit for make-up work is NOT permitted
TARDINESS Tardy to School (per semester) The following chart delineates consequences for being tardy to school unless medical documentation is provided: 1-3 Times Tardy to School: No Action Taken 4 Times Tardy to School: School Detention 5 Times Tardy to School: Wednesday School 6 Times Tardy to School: Saturday School 6+ Times Tardy to School: Chronic Problem, Parent Conference Further Action Taken Above 10 Times Tardy= Conference with Parent, Social Restrictions, or Out of School Suspension.

Grading System Letter Grade Determination � The percentage scale listed below determines the letter grade on the report cards. 100-93 = A 76-73= C 92-90 = A- 72-70 = C- 89-87 = B+ 69-67 = D+ 86-83 = B 66-63 = D 82-80 = B- 62-60 = D- 79-77 = C+ 59-0 = F
Grading Policy � In order to pass a semester course, students must pass 2 of the 3 grading opportunities (quarter, quarter and exam). � In order to pass a year course, students must pass 2 of the 3 grading opportunities in each semester portion of the course. Semester Grade Determination � Each nine-week period will count 40%. Final Exams will be given and count 20% of the student’s final grade. EXAMPLE: F D F= FAILURE D F D= PASS � Use ProgressBook to monitor your grades and assignments on a regular basis!
Grade Placement � All students should carry a minimum of six (6) credits. Students should carry more than 6 credits to take full advantage of the curriculum. o To be classified as a: 10th Grader 5.75 Credits 11th Grader 11.50 Credits 12th Grader 17.25 Credits o In order for 8th grade students to be promoted to the 9th grade, students must pass 4 of 6 grading opportunities. Two of those passing marks must be within the second semester. Grading opportunities include the four grading periods, as well as the midterm and final exam.

School Rules & Procedures � School Code of Conduct is far reaching. ִ Routes to and from school ִ All Brooklyn City School property ִ School Sponsored Events ⌧ Field Trips ⌧ Sporting Events ⌧ Clubs and activities
General Building Rules � Report to all classes on time and be prepared. � Display appropriate behavior at all times. � Follow the Dress Code at all times. � No food is to leave the cafeteria. � Students must have their student ID with them at ALL times. � You are responsible for your personal belongings! Please use caution with your valuables. Keep your locker locked at all times! Purchase a combination lock for your gym locker!
Dress Code � Tank Tops will not be permitted at any time. All shirts must have a sleeve that covers the shoulder. � Pajama pants are not permitted. � Proper underclothing must be worn and should not be visible. � Skirts and shorts must be of an appropriate length. � Clothing with printing that fails to meet the standards of good taste is not permitted. (i.e. alcohol, drug or cigarette logos, inappropriate words or gestures, gang identification and logos, slogans or pictures promoting violence or death) • Administration has the right to determine appropriate attire.
Electronic Devices � Students are permitted to use electronic devices during regular school (7:50-3:11) hours for educational purposes. � Students must have permission from an administrator or a teacher and must have completed the proper paperwork. � These items include but are not limited to: cell phones, iPods, MP3 players, CD players, digital cameras and video cameras. � Devices should NOT be used for playing games, texting, social media, taking video or pictures � Earbuds and headphones are not permitted in the hallways.
Cafeteria Rules 1. Follow directions the first time they are given. 2. Walk in and out of the cafeteria 3. Talk in a normal tone of voice, no shouting 4. Food lines are to be orderly, no cutting or saving places. 5. Students are expected to clean their tables and the surrounding floor area and will be asked to remain until the task is completed. 6. Students are not to leave until dismissed by the cafeteria supervisors. 7. Food and drinks are to be eaten only in the cafeteria.
Bullying/Harassment � Harassment, intimidation, or bullying means any intentional written, verbal, graphic, or physical acts, including electronically transmitted (i.e. Internet, e- mail, cellular telephone, personal digital assistant) that a student or group of students exhibits toward another particular student(s).
Insubordination/Escalation � Insubordination – failure to comply with directions of teachers or other school personnel � Escalation – feeding into a situation to make it worse

Disciplinary Options For Misconduct (not necessarily in order) � Progression of consequences will increase by frequency and seriousness of violations. Administration reserves the right to assign consequences due to the severity and frequency of the offense.
