Our Situation • 2 Doctors For Over 30 Years • 3 rd Doctor For Much of that time – • BUT leaving now • Another Doctor planning to leave in the fall • Doctors own a clinic in Bow Island • Second part-time clinic in Foremost • Their own recruiting efforts for now • Second Doctor likely to retire in the next few years.

SKILLS DAY • Great idea! • Showcase our community • Recruiting tool for the future • Staff & Doctors on board immediately! • So we applied back in February…..then waited • Kim & Rosemary gave us ideas of what others did • We decided to keep things simple • Students arrived around 11 on the Saturday morning • Coffee and snacks then back on the bus

Takeaways 1. Medical Staff have to be on board 2. Great to show off the community but focus on the skills 3. Get younger community members involved. 4. Engage the students as much as possible. 5. Be aware of and respect dietary issues. 6. RPAP advice is so valuable. 7. Keep it Simple!
