FLEXIBILITY AND CHOICE IN LEARNING Students have opportunities to choose ways of interacting with content in ways that better meet their needs and preferences. Flexible space provides a better environment for the teacher to be a facilitator not presenter.
• Mobility of furniture allows for easier “spontaneous” collaboration among students, as well as planned out different styles to match a class or lesson. • Collaboration becomes the focal point to student learning.
PREPARATION FOR THE FUTURE Sends the message to students that we value collaboration and critical thinking. Better represents the types of workplaces and institutions that students will encounter when they enter leave Ardsley. Flexibility allows for us as educators to adapt for the needs into the future we aren’t aware of yet.
