VCE at Lilydale High School • FIVE subjects studied per year • In Year 11 subjects are studied as Units 1 and 2 • In Year 12 subjects are studied as Units 3 and 4 and are studied sequentially
VCE at Lilydale High School: Satisfactory Completion of VCE Students must satisfactorily complete 16 Units of study including: • Three English Units (any); must gain an S in both Units 3 and 4 of the same English • Can do more than one English • Three Unit 3 and 4 sequences other than English
VCE at Lilydale High School: Satisfactory Completion of VCE • Learning Outcomes are the basis for satisfactory completion of VCE • Class attendance also plays a major factor in the satisfactory completion of VCE
VCE at Lilydale High School: Internally Assessed Performance • Year 11 students Graded School Assessed Coursework (SACs), not reported to the VCAA • Year 12 students Graded School Assessed Coursework (SACs) or School Assessed Tasks (SATs), reported to the VCAA

VCE at Lilydale High School: ATAR • Year 12 students receive an ATAR or Australian Tertiary Admission Rank • Used for tertiary entrance; both TAFE and University • The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) calculates the ATAR by adding the Study Scores
VCE at Lilydale High School: ATAR Calculation VTAC adds the Study Scores of: • English (any) Units 3 and 4 (compulsory component) • The best Study Scores of three Unit 3 and 4 sequences, other than English • This is called the “Primary Four”
VCE at Lilydale High School: ATAR Calculation • 10% of a fifth and/or sixth Study Score • VCE VET Units 3 and 4 sequence with a Study Score can be counted in the “Primary Four” • VCE Vet Units 3 and 4 with no Study Score contribute 10% of average “Primary Four”

Online Course Selection Criteria • Access the website between Wednesday 24th July to Monday 5th August • Personal webcode has been emailed to students-please ignore as incorrect. • Students to print course selection sheet and get a parent or guardian to sign it • Submit signed course selection sheet to Senior School Coordinators by Monday 5th August
Online Course Selection • Year 11 and 12 students are to choose English, English Language and/or Literature • All students must do at least one English subject
Online Course Selection Criteria • Mathematics teacher’s approval is required for any Maths selected • Some studies require additional fees eg – Outdoor and Environmental studies and Food Studies
