DEPTH S5/6 – 3/4/5 subjects (qualifications and wider achievement) PROGRESSION CHALLENGE S4 – 7 subjects (qualifications) S3 – 15 subjects (building foundations) S1/2 – 22 subjects (experience) BREADTH Thursday 30th January 2020 Breadalbane Academy
Moving into S3… • All pupils study English and Maths • All pupils choose eight further subjects, five from each curricular area and three from the “free choice” column (including GME) • All pupils chose two achievement masterclasses, where the focus is on skills progression and developing the young workforce • All pupils will receive two periods of core PE, one period of PSE and on period of RME Thursday 30th January 2020 Breadalbane Academy

Moving into S4… • All pupils study English and Maths • All pupils choose five further subjects, one from each column on the senior option choice form • Qualifications available at National 3/4/5 level, National Progression Awards and Skills for Work courses • All pupils will also receive two periods of core PE Thursday 30th January 2020 Breadalbane Academy
Moving into S5… • All pupils study five subjects, one from each column • Qualifications at National 4/5 and Higher levels, NPA and SFW courses • All pupils will receive two periods of core PE, one period of PSE and on period of RME • All pupils also select a “Senior Activity” for two periods • Some pupils will have senior wider achievement lessons Thursday 30th January 2020 Breadalbane Academy
Moving into S6 • All pupils study four or five subjects, one from each column • Opportunity for one column of independent study (the exception being pupils studying 3 Advanced Highers) • Qualifications at National 4/5 and Higher levels, NPA and SFW courses • All pupils will receive two periods of core PE, one period of PSE and on period of RME • All pupils also select a “Senior Activity” for two periods Thursday 30th January 2020 Breadalbane Academy

What are “Senior Activities” In S5 and S6 we include Community Sports Leader opportunities for wider Award achievement, with many Genealogy Unit courses / units having SQA Mental health and certification.
