INTRODUCTION Hello reader my name is Sammy Caseres. I am going to write a research project about Alabama. Three major cities are Montgomery,Mobile,and Birmingham. The population in 2010 is 4,779,736. The number of counties in the state is 67. Alabama's surrounding states are Georgia,Tennessee,Mississippi, and Florida.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION The area in Alabama is 52,237 A large river in Alabama is the Alabama river. A large river is the West Point lake. The highest point in Alabama is 2,407. A cool national park is the military park.
STATE SYMBOLS AND EMBLEMS So you want to know where the state name came from. This fact is cool. It came from a tribe that had the same name. The flag came from a battle flag. The state nickname is heart of Dixie. The state bird is the Yellowhammer. The state insect is beautiful. It's the monarch butterfly! The state flower is the camellia flower. The state tree is the southern long leaf pine tree.
STATE HISTORY Now let's learn about the state history. Alabama became a state in 1819. Captan soto found and walked on Alabama. Alvarez sailed to Mobil bay. A few years later congress organizes Alabama's territory.
