  5. 5 Projects and Initiatives in AgGateway • General Definition of a Project • A temporary endeavor undertaken to create or significantly improve a unique product or service that addresses a specific business need and provides specific deliverables. • Projects in AgGateway • An initiative that is defined and chartered by one or more Industry Segment Councils, • funded by the participants from those councils, • has a goal of improving a specific area of business in which the project participants conduct business. • Usually accomplished by adapting, adopting, or creating an industry standard(s) that utilize information and communication technologies. • We refer to these types of projects as “Council Projects” or “AgGateway sponsored projects ”.

  6. 6 Projects and Initiatives in AgGateway • AgGateway initiatives • “Projects” that the organization itself takes on to increase the value of AgGateway to its members in general. • Chartered and initiated by the board of directors, management team, or one of the standing committees • Funded by the AgGateway general fund or a special fund created for the purpose of improving an AgGateway asset or service. • Examples of council projects are: • CNC II • SC II • SPADE • PAIL • Examples of AgGateway initiatives are: • The Future Vision Task Force Initiative • The Standards Harmonization Initiative

Seed Connectivity-II (SC-II) Project • Segment(s): Joint -Seed & Ag Retail Council Project • Scope: Booking/Order, Retailer Summary Report, Change Log, ShipNotice, Invoice, PriceSheet and Sales Reporting (PMR) messages • Participants: 5 Sellers, 11 Buyers, and 8 Allied Providers (22 companies) • Sellers : Dow, GROWMARK, Monsanto, Syngenta and Winfield • Buyers: Central Valley Coop, Ceres Solutions, Co-Alliance, CPS, GROWMARK, Heartland Coop, Helena, Key Coop, River Valley, Wilbur-Ellis and Winfield • Allied Providers: AgData, AgWorks, AgVantage, Control Systems, E-Markets, Global Services, SSI (AgVance) and XS

  12. 12 Seed Connectivity-II (SC-II) Project Objectives: • Expand the use of AgGateway eBusiness implementations within the Seed Council by enabling at least 5 member companies with at least 4 of those companies are trading partners • Expand the use of AgGateway eBusiness implementations with Ag Retail Council members, by at least 3 member companies • Expand the use of AgGateway eBusiness implementation with Allied Provider Council members by at least 1 member company • 25% of the targeted connections completed by 12/31/2012, and 80% completed by 9/1/2013. • Synchronization of product, entities and licenses with AGIIS directory and trading partners. • Improve customer service and achieve response-time improvements for all participants’ with a post deployment measurement/survey with trading partner.

  13. Seed Connectivity-II (SC-II) Project • 2 Phased Project: • Phase 1 – complete what SC-I did, plus the PriceSheet from the PCI project, including web services (WS) • Phase 2 – Booking/Order Process – both ebMS & WS • Phase 1: 2/2012 – 12/2012 – revised to 6/2013 • Phase 2 9/2012 – 12/2013 – revised to 6/2014 • Progress: • Completed the Review of Phase 1 and starting the implementation stage of that Phase – Currently have 29 of the 113 connections completed (26%) • Schedule in place for Phase 2

Tonnage Reporting Project (TRP) • Segment: Joint Crop Nutrition & Feed Council Project • Scope: Standardized format extract for reporting fertilizer and feed tonnage to state departments – pilot with 3 states and at least 2 CN and 2 Feed members • Participants: • Feed: CHS, Land O’Lakes, Mosaic, Southern States and Vita -Plus • Fertilizer (CN): Ameropa, CF, CPS/Loveland, IRM, Mosaic, Simplot, SSI (AgVance), Southern States, TKI, and Wilbur-Ellis, • Associations: Ag Retailers Assoc. (ARA), The Fertilizer Institute (TFI), America Feed Industry Assoc. (AFIA), American Association Plant Food Control Officials (AAPFCO). American Association Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) • State Officials: Michigan, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina

Tonnage Reporting Project (TRP) Progress • Completed the requirements gathering and have received feedback from some of the state officials in fertilizer. • Developed the XML schema standard • Tested the XML standard with Michigan, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina • Tweaked the schema – approved by S&G Committee • Michigan & South Carolina plan to “go live” for the July reporting with the pilot participants • AgGateway, TFI have approved “Paperless Tonnage Reporting by the end of 2016” goal – ARA, AFIA, AAPFCO, AAFCO – all in process of supporting this goal.

Crop Nutrient Connectivity-II (CNC-II) Purpose: Extension of the original CNC project • Participants: • Sellers: Agrium, International Raw Materials (IRM), Mosaic Company, and Tessenderlo Kerley, Inc. (TKI) • Buyers: Ameropa, CHS, Inc., Crop Production Services (CPS), GROWMARK, Inc., and Richardson International. • Scope: Contracts/Response, OrderCreate/Response, ShipNotice, ShipmentStatus, and Invoice • Timeline: 3/2011 – 3/2012 – not complete • Progress: Implementation – currently 11 out of the 102 connections complete (11%).

  17. 17 Standardized Precision Ag Data Exchange (SPADE) Purpose: Standard field operational (for seed planting) data information for transmission between FMIS to FMIS (including field equipment) • Participants – 30 participants: • Ag Connections, Ag Leader Tech, AGCO, AgIntegrated, Agrian, AgWorks, CNH, CDMS, Ceres, Crop IMS, GEO SYS, Growmark, Heartland Co-op, Hemisphere GPS/Ag Junction, John Deere, MapShots, Monsanto, Premier Crop Systems, Pro Ag Management, Raven Industries, River Valley Cooperative, Southern States Cooperative, SST Software, Syngenta, TopCon Positioning System, Trimble, Wilbur-Ellis, Winfield, XS, ZedX • Scope: See next slides • Timeline: 3/2012 – 12/2012 – revised to 6/30/2013 • Progress: Wrapping up – moving to SPADE2 • Project Manager: Jim Wilson
