Flood Risk Management Programme 2014/15 Projects Delivery managing 11 major schemes within the FRM programme
Example: Crindau £9m WIIP funding via WG Recent flood events Jan 2014, 2006, 2000 and 1981 (430 properties) Crindau is ranked in top 10 communities most at risk from flooding in Wales. Heavily urbanised suburb of the City of Newport – area comprises high density housing, a large industrial estate with manufacturing and retail outlets, and a major artery road into Newport. Scheme will benefit 627 houses and 72 businesses. Appraisal 2013, Detailed design 2014/15, Construction 2015/17

Opportunity for Project Development to include EF bids Partnership funding is potentially a huge opportunity Projects Delivery could recruit/ second additional PMs and support staff for specific funded projects Robust financial and contracts management set up in PD allows for financial administration of funds (we already do this for WEFO and WIIP) Senior User (Client) retains autonomy of project scope – could be outside NRW Funding bids could be part of the Appraisal process
