  9. Building for the Future Pupil Accommodation Review

  10. � The UCDSB has a roster of schools with almost 10,000 vacant pupil places Context for the � The Ministry of Education funding for operating Accommodation this vacant student space is declining Review � The UCDSB has embarked on a Pupil Accommodation Review process, with the goal of reducing the amount of excess space to more efficiently direct its funding to the kinds of learning experiences our communities expect now and into the future

  11. The purpose of the � Accommodation Review Committees (ARCs) provide local information and context that will Accommodation inform the completion of a final staff report to be Review submitted to the Board on February 15, 2017 Committees (ARCS) � The Board will decide its response to the recommendations of the Final Staff Report on March 23 , 2017

  12. � The role of the ARC is to act as a “conduit of information” to assist the review process as a whole The Role of the ARC � The essential mandate of the ARCs is to obtain information from their respective school communities in response to the Initial Staff Report, in order to assist the decision-making responsibilities of the Board of Trustees

  13. � 1 parent/guardian and 1 alternate parent/guardian from each elementary school impacted by the draft recommendations (selected by the respective school ARC councils) � 2 parents/guardians and 2 alternate Membership parents/guardians from each Grades 7 to 12 school impacted by the draft recommendations (selected by the respective school councils) � 1 elementary school principal; � 1 secondary school principal; � 1 superintendent of schools

  15. 1. Char Lan DHS be closed with the grade 7-12 attendance boundary for the Draft school consolidated with St. Lawrence Recommendations DHS and Cornwall Collegiate VS Char Lan 2. S.J. McLeod PS and Williamstown PS be Feeder Group closed and consolidated and located temporarily at the (former) Char Lan school facility

  16. 3. An addition with significant renovations occur at Williamstown school in Draft accordance with the UCDSB Capital Recommendations Priorities Plan Char Lan 4. A northern portion of the current Feeder Group attendance boundary for S.J. McLeod School be consolidated with Laggan School and draft recommendations for the Glengarry feeder group of schools

  17. 1. Glengarry DHS be closed at a future date to be determined and contingent upon the Draft possible development of a business case for Recommendations an addition at Vankleek Hill CI and/or Glengarry confirmation of opportunities to consolidate Feeder Group the current attendance boundary of Glengarry DHS with Tagwi SS and/or Vankleek Hill CI

  18. 2. An eastern portion of the current attendance boundary of Maxville School be consolidated with the Glengarry feeder group of schools a date to be confirmed pending Ministry Draft approval of an addition at Roxmore School Recommendations (Tagwi feeder group) and the UCDSB Capital Glengarry Priorities Plan, Feeder Group 3. Effective September 2017, a northern portion of the current attendance boundary for S.J. McLeod School (Char-Lan feeder group) be consolidated with Laggan (Glengarry feeder group) School.

  19. 1. The number of K-6 elementary schools for the Rothwell-Osnabruck feeder group of schools be reduced from two to one school Draft with the closure of Longue Sault Public Recommendations School Rothwell-Osnabruck Feeder Group 2. The grades 7-12 component of Rothwell- Osnabruck School be closed and consolidated with an expanded grades 7-12 attendance boundary for Cornwall Collegiate V.S.

  20. 3. Geographically, students from Longue Sault P.S. attend Rothwell-Osnabruck P.S. for grades K-6 for Regular French/ English and Draft Early Immersion in accordance with its Recommendations current grades 7-12 attendance boundary Rothwell-Osnabruck 4. Students resident to the northern portion of Feeder Group the current Rothwell-Osnabruck Regular French/English boundary (north of Ingleside) attend the Tagwi feeder group of schools (refer to Tagwi feeder group report).

  21. 1. North Stormont PS and Maxville P.S be closed at a future date to be determined pending Ministry approval for an addition at Roxmore PS in accordance with the UCDSB Capital Priorities Plan Draft 2. Upon its closing, a western portion of the current Recommendations attendance boundary for Maxville School be Tagwi consolidated with Roxmore School and an eastern Feeder Group portion of its current attendance boundary be consolidated with Laggan (Glengarry feeder group) School 3. Upon its closing, the current attendance boundary for North Stormont School be consolidated with Roxmore School
