United for Road Safety: Enhancing the state of road safety through collective community impact model 1. Two Wheels One Life: EDUCATION Education & sensitization of youth in safe two wheeler riding skills Period: 3 years Expected Impact: Sensitization of 2.5 Lakh youth 2. Jeevan Doot: EMERGENCY RESPONSE CARE Creation of force of trained first responders to provide timely emergency care to the road accident victims Period: 1 Year (pilot) Expected Impact: 140 First Responders
Two Wheels One Life: Promoting safe two wheeler riding among youth Goal: To build awareness and equip youth to be safer, responsible 2 wheeler riders. Key Activities: 1. Research to study knowledge, behavior & attitude of youth towards safe two wheeler riding 2. Training of youth in safe riding skills (Impact: 5,000 youth) 3. Formation of Road Safety Clubs (Impact: 3,000 youth) 4. Awareness activities through Road Safety club (Impact: 2.5 L) 5. Annual Road Safety Event (Impact: 10,00 youth) 6. Jeevan Doot: For enhanced road crash response Goal: To create the force of trained First Responders to improve the state of emergency care response especially in cases of road accidents in Mumbai Expected Impact: Mobilization and training of 140 “ Jeeevan Doots ” who are equipped and empowered to respond to the victims of road accidents. (Pilot Program) Collaborations in pipeline: 108 Ambulance Service, RTO, Mumbai Traffic Police, Taximen’s Union, etc.
