OffshoreEnergy Project Management and Engineering Solutions About Us Offshore Energy provides integrated project management and solution-based engineering services to the Oil & Gas, Subsea Telecommunications and Renewable Energy industries worldwide. We plan, design and deliver projects in challenging environments, creating the most effective and efficient solutions for our clients. Our personnel are highly competent and have significant industry experience. Engineering is at the heart of everything we do, and our engineering team is key. This engineering focus adds value to projects by exercising the rigour necessary to mitigate and manage risks, which facilitates innovative and creative thinking needed to deliver complex, demanding and often ground-breaking projects. Our engineers can be involved throughout the life cycle of your project, from initial FEED through kick off, design, onshore planning, offshore installation and project completion.
OffshoreEnergy Project Management and Engineering Solutions Project Approach Our people are at the heart of the organisation and therefore, Offshore Energy is committed to attracting, nurturing and retaining the best people in the industry. The Offshore Energy team consists of industry leaders who specialise in the development of projects in challenging environments. Our personnel have considerable project engineering and management experience in some of the most extreme and challenging subsea environments. A bespoke strategy for personnel is created and tailored to suit each individual project, to ensure maximum productivity, asset integrity and minimal risk to the project. Operating both on and offshore, we can either provide individuals or complete project teams. The overarching goal of the Offshore Energy team is to create customer value through a depth of technical expertise and a focus on delivering measurable performance.
OffshoreEnergy Project Management and Engineering Solutions Digital Imaging Technologies Using the latest digital imaging technologies, we can eliminate dimensional uncertainty by capturing reality. Once digitized, a site can be interrogated and visualised in new immersive ways.
OffshoreEnergy Project Management and Engineering Solutions Data Use We can unlock the value of 3D data by making it accessible in a number of ways 2D CAD TRAINING 3D MODEL VIRTUAL REALITY
OffshoreEnergy Project Management and Engineering Solutions Applications • As-built record • Clash detection • QA inspection • Construction monitoring • 3D visualisation • 3D simulation • Virtual training - technical / health and safety • Site familiarisation • Damage inspection
OffshoreEnergy Process Project Management and Engineering Solutions Laser Survey Equipment
OffshoreEnergy Project Management and Engineering Solutions Data Capture Multiple laser scans are carried out across the work site, at different locations and from a range of vantage points. At least 30% overlap from each scan is accommodated.
OffshoreEnergy Project Management and Engineering Solutions Data Capture
OffshoreEnergy Project Management and Engineering Solutions Data Processing A number of processing steps are completed before modelling or draughting can take place: • Scan data is imported into a database for processing. This can be done overnight or may take several days, depending on the amount of data. • If colour images have been captured, the import time is approximately doubled • Enhancement (blending) of colours from scan data takes additional time • Scans are registered together into a single dataset using a technique called ‘cloud to cloud registration’, in which software optimises and aligns the scans. On average, 40 to 50 scans can be registered by one technician per day. Once scans have been registered the data is optimised through a process called unification. This can take 6 to 24 hours depending on the size of the dataset.

OffshoreEnergy Project Management and Engineering Solutions 3D Modelling Scan data captures everything that is visible in millimetre detail. As many systems are not able to handle the size of the raw point cloud data, however, in most instances some vectorisation or conversion to 3D CAD is required. The modelling process is relatively manual, matching and fitting CAD surfaces to the point cloud data. As little or as much detail as required can be added to a model, outlining all the required items (vales, flanges, ducts pipes over a certain diameter, etc.). Models are supplied in a generic format (3d.dwg) unless otherwise specified.

OffshoreEnergy Project Management and Engineering Solutions 3D Inspection Typical equipment inspected for QA purposes includes: • Pipe spools and valves • Package equipment Pump skids - Manifolds - Christmas trees, etc. -
OffshoreEnergy Project Management and Engineering Solutions 3D Inspection Damage inspection: • We can used processed 3D laser scan data into our suite of finite element analyses programs (ANSYS / NASTRAN) to evaluate the structural integrity of damaged members, e.g. jacket members
OffshoreEnergy Project Management and Engineering Solutions Virtual Reality It is now possible to apply games engine technology to the as-built model, which allows an accurate virtual environment to be explored in real time. For added realism, this can be accessed using the latest virtual reality headsets (Oculus Rift). This application is particularly useful for training, disaster management, or visualising and simulating new equipment, procedures, etc. An additional modelling process is require to texture and optimise the 3D model for this application. Applications: • Virtual fit outs • Technical training • Equipment simulations • Asset familiarisation • Health and safety training • Site awareness • Disaster training
