Tuesday - May 26, 2020 Read for 20 minutes and retell the story to someone. Lexia - 15 minutes a day Reading - Log into iReady through the Clever page (link). Click on “Reading” and complete “Next Lesson” under My Path. Math - Play one or two of the Math Games *Writing - Write about your favorite 2nd grade memory. Here is a template you can use if you want! Science/SS- Learn about how plants grow by experimenting with this interactive science activity. Using heat & water, see if you can make the plant grow to a healthy size. Experiment with different conditions, what does closing the blinds and removing the sunlight do? What happens if you forget to water the plant or add too much water? How about if the conditions become too hot or too cold? Can you take care of the plant for 4 weeks? Wednesday - May 27, 2020 Read for 20 minutes and retell the story to someone. Lexia - 15 minutes a day * Reading - Read Snail Mail with Mrs. Salazar and answer the questions. Math- Coin riddles 2 Writing - It’s Whatever Wednesday! Get your creative juices flowing because you can write about whatever you want in any way you want! A poem about the best sandwich you ever ate...sure! A book about how to train your pet snail...sure! A recipe for Frog and Toad ice cream... sure! Be creative! Science/SS - Learn about various living things such as animals and plants, sort them into different categories and discover where they fit into the food chain with this fun science activity for kids. Look out for animals such as the fox, owl, squirrel, snail, bird & caterpillar as well as trees and other living things. Whether it’s an ocean, forest or desert, different habitats feature different plants and animals. Explore the woodland habitat and sort the different animals and plants into food chains while comparing which ones fly, which have legs and which have shells. PE - Connect 4 Fitness

Click on “Reading” and complete “Next Lesson” under My Path. *Math - Complete the money worksheet Writing -Think about some goals you want to set for the summer...how many books will you read? Will you learn a new skill? Will you practice a game/sport? Write about your goals for the summer...you can use this template if you want! Science/SS - Plants and animals depend on each other for survival in their unique environments. Have fun playing this game to help the living things get what they need in order to survive. Music - What’s Your Name?
Friday - May 29, 2020 - Last Day of School Read for 20 minutes and retell the story to someone. Lexia - 15 minutes a day Reading - Happy Last Day of School! Tell us what your favorite thing about 2nd grade or record a video message for your teacher on Flipgrid. Push the green + to get started. Math- WOW! Last day of school! Do Sumdog one more time! Writing - It is your last day as a 2nd grader!! Write about what you hope your first day of 3rd grade will be like! Will we be back at school like normal? Are there friends you hope will be in your class? What will you be an expert at? Whatever you hope, your Titan Hill family can’t wait to see you!! Science/SS - Here is one last game to play to help the animals get what they need to survive! Enrichment- Reading and Math This week’s enrichment is focused on some issues that lots of TAG kids deal with: perfectionism and growth mindset. Perfectionism means that you feel like you have to be perfect at everything you do. Growth mindset means you realize that there is ALWAYS room for growth. I left last week’s up in case you didn’t get to read all the books! For this summer, please continue reading anything that interests you.
