  6. Monday - May 4, 2020 Read for 20 minutes and retell the story to someone. Lexia - 15 minutes a day Reading - Log into iReady through the Clever page (link). Click on “Reading” and complete one lesson under “My Path”. Math - Watch the Video about bar graphs. Complete the Survey with your family. Save this for tomorrow. Writing - We are all missing our classrooms and being at school! Today you are going to write about what would happen if you were back in your classroom and accidentally got SHRUNK down to the size of your thumb. Check out this video writing prompt that will tell you all about it! Science/SS - Click on the link to take a Piggy Bank Quiz created by Scholastic. Are you more like the squirrel, dolphin, or spider? Guidance - The ZONES of Regulation...HOME STYLE! Click on this link to access the school counselor’s slides!

  7. Tuesday - May 5, 2020 Read for 20 minutes and retell the story to someone. Lexia - 15 minutes a day Reading - Record a video on Flipgrid. Share with us what book you are reading at home right now. Math - Use your Survey from yesterday and make a Bar graph. Please add three questions about your graph. Writing - Today we are going to write acrostic poems. The name sounds hard, but I bet you have written these before. Check out this video to remind you of what they are. Here is an example that I wrote. You can write about whatever you choose, but if you want a little help, here is guide to writing an acrostic poem about Spring! * Science/SS - Mrs. Dixon is sharing an article about what a budget is. Click on the link to listen and read along, then answer the questions. Art - Foil Still life/Chalk art

  8. Wednesday - May 6, 2020 Read for 20 minutes and retell the story to someone. Lexia - 15 minutes a day * Reading - Read Tulips with Mrs. Salazar and answer the questions. *Math - Watch the video. Complete the worksheet Writing -Whatever Wednesday! Spend at least 15 minutes writing about whatever topic you want in whatever style you want! A poem about sandwiches...sure! A story about a dragon with a bad cold...sure! A recipe for pancakes...sure! A how-to book about making mud pies...sure! If you need some help with ideas here are some writing prompts. Science/SS - Here is a link to a game by Scholastic to try! Roads to Riches may require a help from an adult with reading however I think everyone will enjoy! PE - Unlock my phone! - My son doing this activity Unlock my phone - This link will provide you access to the videos that have the numbers you will need. You can use paper plates as we did or you can take it outside and use some sidewalk chalk! Have fun!!

Your teacher will share your class code in the email sent with the slides. Math - Complete the worksheet Writing - This activity goes with the Social Studies one below...in addition to drawing a picture of yourself doing your future job, take some time to write about it. You can use this graphic organizer to help you. Why did you choose this job? What do you think you would like/dislike about it? Science/SS - Think about what you might like to do when you grow up. Here is a link to a Career Quiz if you would like to try! Draw a picture of yourself doing your future job! Include any tools or supplies you might need.   10. Friday - May 8, 2020 Read for 20 minutes and retell the story to someone. Lexia - 15 minutes a day Reading - Pick a book of your choice to read in your bathtub. Have someone take a picture of you to share with your teacher. Watch next week to see your picture in video shared with all 2nd graders. (Flashlight Friday video posted above Monday’s slide.) Math - Sumdog! * Writing - Sunday is Mother’s Day! Take some time to write a note to a woman you love who helps take care of you...it could me your mom, grandma, aunt, cousin or a family friend. Tell her what you love about her and why you are glad she is in your life! Write to more than one person if you have time. If you want to make a special puzzle for her you can print this template. Science/SS - Did you know different careers require different. levels of education? Today do a little research about what education is required to have the career you chose on Thursday. This site might help! Library/Technology - Makerspace May challenge week #1: build the best fort ever!

  12. Enrichment- Reading and Math Math Enrichment: This week’s activity is a math project where you get to run your own pet store! Reading Enrichment- Use your super reading skills to work on sequencing. Sequencing means putting things in order! You will read some sentences and figure out what order they would go in to make sense. Please share your enrichment work with me at bcunningham@lewiscentral.org!

Spend some time doing Sumdog (10 minutes). Use this page as a guide for math this week.
