Scholarship Requirements Students on Scholarship must perform teaching duties to fulfil the Scholarship requirements. Work done should not exceed 10 hours a week. If the total required hours are not met by the time the thesis is submitted for examination, the Scholar will have his/her transcript (both unofficial and official), student status letter, conferment letter and degree scroll (for graduating student) withheld until the fulfilment of the requirement. Scholarship Requirements For students under NTU Research Scholarship Optional Research Assistant (RA) Duties 1. After fulfilling the mandatory teaching hours, students may also use research duties to fulfil the GAP Hours. 2. No preparation time is to be clocked in this assignment. 3. The RA duty should go beyond the scope of the research project undertaken by the student to fulfil the requirement of the Post Graduate Research programme. Optional Other Developmental Assignments (ODA) 1. After fulfilling the mandatory teaching hours, students may also use other developmental assignments to fulfil the GAP Hours. 2. ODA includes assistance with conferences/seminars, administrative duties etc. 3. A brief description of the work done should be provided. 4. The Assistant Chair’s endorsement is required for work done under this category. For students under CoHASS Tuition Grant Administrative or Research Duties 1. Instead of teaching hours, students may also use Administrative or Research Duties to fulfil their CoHASS Tuition Grant Requirements.

Seminar Attendance All students must attend 10 Seminars Per Academic Year Requirement 5 per semester Who All Students Proof of Attendance Submit to Christina at the end of every semester Failure to Meet Stipends will be withheld Requirements Types of Seminars Allowed Can be of a different discipline or different division or even from a different school (if they allow). The seminar should be beneficial to a Graduate student’s professional development and must be an Academic Talk. It has to be a seminar/colloquium/online course organised by a university, a national library, or national museum.

Scholarly Communication & Impact Seminar Develop a strong foundational knowledge in the scholarly research and publishing environment which you may be less acquainted. Communications/ Writing Training Programme for PhD Students The programme consists of three components, two compulsory and one optional. The three components of the Programme are as follows: (A) Compulsory Complete 39 training hours of communications courses (B) Compulsory 3-minute thesis (3MT) presentation symposium organised by the Graduate Student Club. Optional Students who need one-on-one tutoring can schedule appointments with special tutors at LCC Communications Cube or NIE Grad Centre for individualised feedback on their writing and oral communication skills.
