  2.  When – January 20,2018  Camping available the night of 1/19 and/or 1/20.  Camping will be on a first-come, first- served basis.  Please DO NOT camp in the immediate area of a competition station (see maps).

  3.  Where – Hodge Park Athletic Field NE 96th St. & NE Reinking Rd.

  4.  This is a new location with new rules.  No ground fires; they should be contained and off the ground .  Vehicles MUST park on the paved area.  Straight in or back in – no parallel parking.  This will require trucks towing trailers to unhitch.  There are over 300 parking spots. You should be able to find parking near or adjacent to your camping area.  I have appointed “Parking Czars” to enforce this.  If necessary, we will deduct competition points.  We will have 600 gallons of water. But it is strongly suggested that you bring water with you. Do not rely solely on the water at the event.

  5.  Register in advance or on-site upon arrival.  $8.00 per attendee.  No unit fee this year.  Please bring a check as credit cards will not be accepted on-site.  Advance registration up to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 1/17:  rmd.me/NDZLxFQU3ak

  6.  Schedule:  7:30 - 9:00 Registration and sled check in  9:00 - 9:15 Opening and score sheet handout.  9:15 -12:00 Activities stations  12:00 - 1:00 Lunch! Stations closed during lunch  1:00 - 2:30 Activities stations  3:00 - 4:00 Sled races  Trophy presentation and Closing Ceremony will follow sled races.

  7. RULES FOR KLONDIKE DERBY RACE  Minimum of 2 people with the sled.  Scouts must stay with the sled, if someone falls, the sled must wait.  Sled must remain on the ground.  Sled must have been checked in at registration and used in skills competition.  No wheels on sled.  There will be 3 classes:  13 & under  15 & under  17 & under  Trophies will be presented to the winner of each class. Please note: Younger scouts may compete in an older class, but older scouts may not participate in a younger class.

  8.  Sled check-in score sheet & sled plans.  Minimum 72” in length (1 point deduction for each inch under).  Minimum 24” in length (1 point deduction for each inch under).  NO wheels on the sled.  This will disqualify them from the races and result in a 20 point penalty at sled check-in.

Competition S core S heet  This is a patrol competition  Boys should function as a unit, with no adult participation.  Scout spirit points at each station will take teamwork and cooperation into consideration.  Pathfinder points are for taking the stations in sequence.  Score Sheet Turn In Time will be used as a tie- breaker.  Scoresheet in packet is a sample only.  It will not be valid at the stations.
