Derby project Benefits: The new layout will: • Reduce bottlenecks Increased line speed Enable more efficient management of rail traffic & quicker passage through station Deliver new signalling with remote condition monitoring for improved reliability & ease of maintenance Provide greater operational flexibility & reliability Deliver a layout to help meet future growth /
Derby project Impact on station users/passengers: Derby Station will remain open & operational for • majority of 79 days in summer 2018 We are still a year away from any disruption • A train & replacement bus plan is being developed • Network Rail and Train Operators are working together to ensure key links, such as Derby to London, are maintained wherever possible There will be significant communications activity • during the project to keep you informed Including an online tool passengers can use to plan around the disruption /
