6 th Grade Teams • Students will be placed on teams and change classes within the team • Students will travel to: Art, Music, FACS, Physical Education, Integrated Technology, World Language, Health, Technology and Lunch
Time Schedule • Buses arrive from 7:00 to 7:15 a.m. • Students may be dropped off at 7:00 a.m. • First warning bell rings at 7:20 a.m. • First period bell at 7:21 a.m. • Instructional Day • Period 1 begins at 7:21 a.m. • Classes end at 2:05 p.m. • Activity period is from 2:10 to 2:45 p.m.

Student Placement on Teams • Numerous factors go into placement: o Academic program needs (includes things such as AIS support, enriched math, IEP/504 plans, etc.) o Transition sheets completed by 5 th grade teachers o Transition meetings with administrators from Hill and OMS where each individual student is discussed special education teachers from Hill and OMS where each student with an IEP is discussed in detail counselors and psychologists from Hill and OMS in which each individual student is discussed
Lockers- Materials and Supplies • Each student has their own locker • Lockers have combinations • Backpacks, books, supplies, electronics and personal belongings are all stored in the locker.
Reports Cards and Progress Reports • Report cards are mailed home at the end of each marking period • Progress reports are available online through campus portal at the midway point of each marking period • Campus portal can also be used to check student progress throughout the year • Grades are percentage based out of 100%
Breakfast • Breakfast is available every morning • Students are let off their bus starting at 7:05 AM • They go to cafeteria to pick up breakfast and then go to their locker and first period class • Students are given the first 10 minutes of period 1 to eat their breakfast
Lunch • Sixth graders eat together! • Lunch is from 12:21 to 12:51 • Main dish (hot) changes daily • Sandwiches/wraps • Salad • Pizza

Open House • Open House will be: Wednesday August 28, 2019 from 8 a.m.-11 a.m. • You will be able to: • receive class schedule, tour the building, set up their locker, bring in supplies, and get your school picture taken. • OMS will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. weekdays starting on August 28 th until the start of the school year.
