Apprenticeship is hands-on training for people who enjoy "learning by doing”. 90 per cent of apprenticeship training occurs at the workplace with 10% in a classroom setting at a local community college/approved training facility. Everyone benefits from apprenticeship training. Employers gain increasingly skilled workers who help keep their business competitive. Apprentices receive training while they earn a wage. Apprenticeships are approximately 3 to 5 years in length, and vary from trade to trade.

Helps potential apprentices develop their job skills and trade readiness to be prepared to find work as apprentices Programs are up to 52 weeks in length and may include the Level 1 apprenticeship in- school training or relevant apprenticeship/ safety training, and an 8 to 12 week work placement Programs may also include employment preparation and academic upgrading
