SSD Project to Increase Family & School Connectedness Increasing School Engagement through Attendance * Overall goal of the project was to effectively use data and culturally responsive practices to clarify and solve a perceived problem (school attendance) * Started October 2016 with Keet Gooshi Heen and Blatchley, with plans to expand to district-wide by September 2017 * Focus areas of the project: 1. Increasing our partnerships with families and students to offer options to plan together for when students will be out of building due to activities. 2. Creating a welcoming climate at the beginning the school day. 3. Defining criteria we will use to identify when students or families might need additional support to increase attendance and decrease tardiness.
