Rubber Tire Fleet Overview Rubber Tire Fleet Overview
Guiding Principles Guiding Principles • Maintain Low Average Fleet Age • Improve Reliability • Adopt Performance -Based Procurements • Develop Robust Maintenance Standards • Align with City ’s Sustainability Goals • Anticipate and Accommodate Growth • Maintain 20% Spare Ratio 2
Maintain Low Average Fleet Age Maintain Low Average Fleet Age The current round of rubber tire procurement has been staggered over several years with the intent of dropping the average fleet age from a high of 12 years in 2014 to an overall average age of five to eight years. The plan moving forward is to smooth out peaks and valleys for vehicle maintenance Average Age by Fleet Type Optimal Age 16 40ft MC age 60ft MC age 40ft TC age 14 60ft TC age 32ft MC age 12 Average Age 10 8 6 4 2 0 2019 2020 2021 2022 2023 2024 2025 2026 2027 2028 2029 2030 2031 2032 2033 2034 2035 2036 2037 2038 2039 2040 3
