  3. Literacy • Significant Childrens’Authors -Story Writing (Louis Sachar)- Cross curricular • Information texts (Link to Brazil topic) • Myths and Legends (linked to Mayan civilisation topic) On going focus on guided reading (20-30 minutes every day) spellings, grammar, handwriting.

  4. Reading with your Child in KS2 • At least 4 times a week • Child to write a focused weekly comment about their reading in their reading journals Suggestions: • You read a part, they read a part • Ask questions to help ensure they understand the text • ‘Reading with your child’ video on Brookfield website.

FAB – collage based illustration As a part of this year's FAB project, every year group will be working alongside Mark Oliver from Pencil & Help to Autumn B: Y5 develop their skills in collage. & 6 The children will be creating collages that will inspire their own writing pieces.
