A Little About Us… This year we welcomed 595 students this fall PreK through 5 th grade • • Over a third of our teachers are National Board Certified or have a Masters Degree • 30+ nations represented at RRES • A Title I school • Last year over 90.7% of our students met or exceeded their growth goals! • Our growth index is +4.44 • Our report card letter grade will be a “C” • Very active and growing
Title I – What does that mean? • 80% Free and reduced lunch students • $ 200,000 funds budgeted for instructional support including the hiring of a Title I teacher, an Interpreter, a BMT & two tutors. • It’s not a negative label. It’s an opportunity! • Parental Involvement is essential. • Please read and sign the Parent School Compact (student agenda & webpage)
Title I funds can be used to… • hire teachers to reduce class size, • tutoring, • purchase of instructional equipment, materials and supplies, • parental involvement activities, • professional development for teachers, • pre-kindergarten programs, and hiring Teacher Assistants.

It includes… – The CMS expectations for parents – How CMS will involve parents in decision-making –How CMS will work to build the schools’ and parents’ capacity for strong parental involvement to improve student academic achievement • You, as Title I parents, have the right to be involved in the development of this plan.

The compact is a commitment from the school, the parent, and the student to share in the responsibility for improved academic achievement You, as Title I Parents, have the right to be involved in the development of the School-Parent Compact. THIS WILL REMAIN POSTED ON THE RRES WEBPAGE ALL YEAR FOR YOUR ACCESS. It is also located in your child’s agenda.
How Can I Volunteer to Assist My Child w/Academic Needs? Join the School Improvement Team and/or JOIN PTA!! Volunteer to contact other parents regarding important school information. • Ex. – 100% Compact completion • Stuff envelopes • Talk to your neighbors and let them know what is going on at your child’s school. • Contact our office to volunteer.
How Do I Request the Qualifications of My Child’s Teachers? You, as Title I Parents, have the right to request the qualifications of your child’s teachers How are you notified of this right and the process for making such request? (Explain Procedure – Right To Know Letter and request should be completed within 30 days of parent request)
