FIRST D FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL AY OF SCHOOL • First Day of School is Thursday, 2 January 2020 . • All P1 students are to assemble at the canteen at 7.20 a.m. for the singing of national anthem and pledge taking • All parents are to proceed to the Arts Fusion for a briefing at 7.45 a.m. • Please refer to the handout for students on what to bring for the first day of school.

  28. SPECIAL DISMISSAL ARRANGEMENT FOR 1 st 3 Days (2, 3 & 6 Jan 2020) • Students will be dismissed class by class from the hall for the first 2 days of school. Parents are allowed to come to the hall 15 minutes before dismissal time. • From 6 January 2020 onwards, parents are to pick up their child from either the front gate or back gate. • In the event of wet weather , student will be dismissed in a staggered manner . • Students will be given coloured stickers for easy identification of dismissal pattern. • Front Gate: Orange • Bus Bay: Blue • Back Gate: Green • Parents are to indicate in the Pupil Particular Form the mode of dismissal. • Parents are to inform the Form Teacher of any changes so as to avoid any confusion.

  29. Primary 1 School Hours 2020 School Start Time 7.30 a.m. Recess Time 9.00 a.m. (Mon-Thur) TGIF (Fri) 8.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. That’s Great, It’s Friday Recess and PLAY Snack Break (10 min) Within lesson time between 11.50 a.m. to 12.10 p.m. School Dismissal 1.30 p.m.

DISM DISMISSAL ISSAL AR ARRA RANGEMENT NGEMENT Dismissal Time: • Classes are lined up according to the following dismissal pattern – Front Gate, Back Gate and Bus Bay. • We seek the cooperation and understanding of all parents to be punctual in picking up your child, so as to avoid unnecessary anxiety for your child.

  31. Dropping Off at Dropping Off at Porch Porch • Parents are allowed to drive into the school for students to alight at the car porch in the morning. • Do drive slowly and carefully. • Please ensure that your child has his/her bag ready before reaching the car porch. • Please ensure that it is done in a fast and safe manner.

  32. Injuries/Illnesses Injuries/Illnesses that requ that require ire medical attent medical attention ion • If your child sustained minor injury in the school, a first aid trained staff will attend to your child . We will contact you if we assessed that further medical attention is needed for your child’s injury. • If your child has a temperature of more than 37.5 o C , suspected of having chicken pox, HFMD or other communicable diseases, you are required to bring him/her to the doctor . • Parents/guardian must sign your child out at the General Office before bringing your child home . • In an emergency , an ambulance will be called. Parents will be informed that an ambulance was called and parents will meet their child at the hospital.

  33. Emergen Emergency cy evacua evacuation tion plan plan • A copy of the evacuation procedures and a map of the assembly area are displayed in each classroom. • Emergency procedures such as fire drills are conducted on a regular basis (i.e. at least once a semester) so as to familiarise staff and students with the school’s emergency plan.

  34. Temperature Temperature-taki taking ng exercise exercise • The school will conduct a temperature taking exercise at the start of each semester i.e. Week 1 of Term 1 and Term 3. • Students are expected to have with him/her a working thermometer on the day of the temperature taking exercise.

  35. Other Other Matters Matters Food s Food safety afety • The school will not be allowing individual birthday celebrations in class or at the canteen where food is involved. This includes giving out of goodie bags. As a class, the FT would be singing a birthday song with the class for the students celebrating their birthdays for that month, to acknowledge the students’ birthdays and for their friends to be given the opportunity to wish them well.

  36. IMPORTANT NOTE • Parents are to attend part 2 of the orientation programme before picking up their children from the respective classrooms (level 1) • Please do not purchase the textbooks and school uniforms if you are applying for Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) . Please proceed to the school office for more details.
