VESPA Vision x Effort x Systems x Practice X Attitude
VESPA VISION Vision is designed to help you know what it is that they want to achieve. Research has shown that students who do not have a vision or goal often hit a ceiling and can underperform by as much as one grade.. EFFORT Effort allows you to reflect on your effort and hard work. It tries to help those with a fixed mindset to see that hard work and effort equates to success. SYSTEMS Systems focuses in on your ability to organise yourselves and your learning. Research shows a correlation between levels of organisation and your final grade. PRACTICE Practice focuses on the idea that effort and practice are different and although you might put in a lot of effort, if the way they practice isn’t right then you may not make the progress you need. ATTITUDE Attitude looks at a number of factors that make up the way you approach your work. It investigates your process of learning and your positivity towards yourself and your ability to respond to difficulty and challenge, as well as your resilience and grit.
