In addition, we hope to provide information about: • Assessment and Behaviour For Learning information and parental access via the website; • Safeguarding; • Merits and rewards in school; the role of the form tutor and form time.

The role of the Learning Tutor 1) Learning tutors are the first port of call for students 2) Be responsible and lead a small community of students 3) Challenge ‘ 5 a day ’ expectations in line with the school ethos (See next slide) 4) To teach PSHE sessions with enthusiasm 5) To facilitate debates and communication through topics 6) You will lead on the tracking and development of your student’s wider employability skills, study skills and softer skills. 7) To monitor students behaviour for learning using the weekly audits and Behaviour for Learning bulletins. Learning tutors intervene where possible. 8) To liaise with parents, students and staff regarding students 9) To challenge attendance and punctuality concerns

  11. 5 a day keeps the nagging away Learning tutors check the 5 a day for every student • The 5 a day for students sits under: • 1) Students must attend school 2) You need to arrive to school on time 3) You need to be fully equipped for school – pen/pencil/ruler 4) You need to be in correct uniform 5) You need to focussed for school and behave positively Students who have met the ‘5 a day’ will receive a merit from their learning tutor. • Learning tutors will support students with these expectations. •

  12. Attendance – The target is 97% Our Year 7 attendance to date 98.04% 92-95% = W1 Stepping Stones to Bronze 90-92% = W2 Concern Below 90% = W3 Persistent Absentee
