Grading & Reporting 3 Guiding Principles: 1. Provide a framework for reporting student academic achievement 2. Information for self-evaluation and the evaluation of instruction 3. Grading must be fair, accurate, specific, and timely
Grading & Reporting 80% based on Performance ● Examples include assessments, projects, lab reports 20% based on Practice ● Such as daily assignments, homework, notebook checks Late work -- accepted without penalty until the summative assessment for the unit; will be documented in the comments section of the gradebook. *some high school courses may have an alternative scale
Grading & Reporting - Relearning Purpose of relearning is to ensure proficiency or extend learning. A relearning activity must be completed before re-assessment. ● Within a time frame, not to exceed 2 weeks ● Reassessment grade replaces the original grade
